It will always happen. Maintaining momentum on a blogging website requires time, effort and commitment and thus it is inevitable that, in my particular circumstances, momentum will be lost and long periods of inactivity will be evident on this site. However, as Arnie would say, “I’ll be back.” and I am back now to give you dgc.me’s Life Update No. 1.
Quite a bit has happened since the last blog:
Music:
Unfortunately, the band I was in, “Tobacco Road”, is no more. A number of issues contributed to the band’s demise, none of which are worth going into sordid detail here. I think my days as an active drummer are now well and truly over. However, it’s not all doom and gloom. I will be keeping the Roland pads (which formed the core of my kit) for recording purposes and for any impromptu performances that may occur if the opportunity arises . I am now going to focus more on my guitar playing and singing. Lots of ideas for blogs and articles here.
Photography:
In brief, I have now traded in my Nikon D700 and upgraded to a Nikon D800. Shortly after this exchange, I replaced my Nikon D7000 with an Olympus OM-D E-M5. The objective of this camera is to act as a smaller, more portable travel alternative to the D800. Various articles about the new cameras and lenses will follow.
Travel & Adventure:
I have booked a return holiday to India, travelling from Delhi along the path of the Ganges river to Calcutta. This is a two week trip with the Adventure Travel company, Exodus, with whom I’ve been on a number of trips before including the last trip to India in 2010.
Had a great day at the London Olympics watching the Beach Volleyball with a few mates. The following blog will show videos that were made of the day. It was a brilliant laugh.
Apart from that, plodding on as usual.
